Intended for the youth to access quality sports, PlayLA was formed as a joint-collaboration between the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the City of LA Department of Recreation & Parks, and Mayor Eric Garcetti’s office. The goal in mind was to give kids the opportunity to be active and know the joy of teamwork, all while reflecting a healthier LA.

The visual identity of PlayLA came to life with the addition of the colorful icons which are meant to reflect the Olympics and Paralympics-inspired sports being offered through LA Parks. The colors and playful appearance of the icons are intended to excite and reflect LA’s youth.
